There’s something incredibly special about maternity sessions that include the whole family. Especially when the toddler is already excited about their new role as a big brother! This summer maternity and family session was filled with laughter, movement and quiet in-between moments that perfectly reflect this season of life.

One of the most meaningful parts of this session was getting to photograph this family again. I first photographed them for their engagement. Then at their wedding day at Stonebridge Golf Club in Ann Arbor. Being invited back to document such a different, but equally important, season of their lives is something I never take for granted.

Watching wedding couples grow into parents (and then into families of three) is one of the greatest joys of being a photographer. There’s a level of trust and comfort that comes from working together again!
